I followed your guide a few weeks ago, works perfectly for DVDs :-)
I have had issues trying to convert some DivX's with 5.1 AC3 using the same method, TMPGenc just can't see the AC3 sound. I had to convert them to VOB files first so that it looked like a DVD, then I could convert it to WMV+WMAPro 5.1 successfully. Unfortunately that meant the video was recoded twice (DivX->MPEG2->WMV).
However that was with an older version of TMPGenc Xpress, I wonder if version 4 would convert a DivX+AC3 correctly?
