BladeRunner Pro v3.5 Released!

BladeRunner Pro v3.5 Release

Due to all the problems at the moment with grabbers that scrape data from ninemsn I thought now might be a good time to release the new version of BladeRunner Pro.

New Features
  • Installer re written from the ground up, dead simple to use.
  • MCE more programs addin/mcl trigger, run BRP directly within MCE!
  • Auto create channelinfo.xml, no more messing with channelinfo files is required, irrespective of the grabber used.
  • Automatically create duplicate data for HD channels
  • Flags programs with a "HD logo" (logo in guide), based on a text file of known HD shows. This function lets you see what shows are broadcast as true HD while still seeing the upscaled SD content in the guide for the HD channels! The best of both worlds!
  • When run from scheduled tasks or more programs BRPv3.5 will trigger MCE to get the guide data. A manual "get latest guide listings" is no longer necessary!!
  • No longer uses listing2.xml now uses xmltv.xml (adjust grabber accordingly)
Bug fixes -
  • Fix red dot issue for multi regions
  • General fixes and house keeping

This will allow the process of changing over to a new grabber (such as oztivo), far less painful.

Please note that you will still need to configure your choice of grabber to get the EPG data in the first place, BladeRunner Pro will then take this data and provide you a guide.

Installation and Setup

1. Uninstall old BRP.
2. Uninstall old disfunctional grabber.
3. Remove BRP DIR or empty it.
4. Install BRPv3.5.
5. Install new grabber.
6. Use BRPConfigurator to configure your grabber.
5. Run BRP.
6. Do a "get latest guide listings" within MCE for the first time.
7. Re assign listings to channels as per normal.

If all is ok you shouldn't see any errors.

Now check the guide and it should be available. If not then re-try the above process before posting for support.

I'd like to thank the following people for their help, support and testing -

Mike, arkay, Matt, TiggerK, Sambooka, muppie, corneliu, doubledip, headshot, Big Al, Brengun, BJReplay, lilrich, ExtremePC, gibbo9000, Georgea, benneh, simbot82, whitford.

Note:

All current scheduled recordings will break and have to be rescheduled due to the new code used for the multi region fix. Going from ninemsn to another grabber source such as oztivo will also break some recordings due to various channel name changes.

You will find it in the downloads section.

Enjoy!
