Thks George,

I'm currently building my media centre, my proposed specs so far are:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 3800+ (S939)
and
Corsair 1GB DDR2 PC2-4200 (533MHz)

as I want to use the PC in the study and the tv in the loungeR I'm looking into getting an xbox 360 extender and doubling (2gb) the RAM to enable me to use the PC as normal even when running the TV. do you think the extra ram is necessary to ensure pc can be MCentre and working PC?
