Transcode 360 Question

Hiya All

I have finally had to install Transcode 360 so that the kids can watch their Divx files on out two extenders.

I have install Transcode 360 OK but for the life of me I can't find out how to Transcode a Divx file thats located in "Video Library". From what I have google, it says to press Info on the required file and then select Transcode. I have no transcode option.

If someone can please point me in the right direction, I would be greatly appreciaed.

Cheers
Andrew

Re: Transcode 360 Question

Hey there

for the transcode to work make sure you are logged into the media centre from the xbox , then you get the transcode option....you won`t get it from the xbox dashboard

Thanks, I am logged into media centre (vista) and I still can find anywhere the transcode option. Any suggestions as to where I am going wrong.

Cheers

Re: Transcode 360 Question

Hmm

I`m not running VMC but I would make sure you`ve installed transcode as an administrator just in case its a vista permissions thing...I`m sure someone here will chime up if i`m wrong.

You should be just able to choose the info button on your xbox remote when the file is selected and choose "More"...then you get the transcode option ....at least that is what happens under MCE2005.

Re: Transcode 360 Question

Thanks.

I have installed it as administrator and just don't have a more or transcode button when I select info on the remote.

I guess I need to google some more

Re: Transcode 360 Question

I`m presuming it installed ok and you were using the vista beta version. Dunno if this thread helps at all...I was just googling around

Re: Transcode 360 Question

Thanks.

I had look at the page and tried what it suggested, still no joy. I am installing version 1.6.3 and just tried it on my second MCE computer I am and getting the More --> Transcode when I press the info button.

Problem is the extenders are connected to the main MCE computer in the Theatre room, I will try again. Any ideas on how to manually add the More --< Transcode option then the info button is pressed.

Re: Transcode 360 Question

Not sure to be honest...

Might be worth uninstalling and reinstalling transcode.

Are you running it as a service? If so maybe check that it has started in the control panel-administrative tools-services

Re: Transcode 360 Question

Why are you using Transcode360 at all? The Xbox360 has native divx/xvid support from the dashboard? All you need is a app called Tversity or even Media Player 11 that act as upnp media servers, and again no transcoding necessary.
