Overlord

ok I'm finding good console games few and far between at the moment, Overlord is a refreshing change.

It has humour, mayhem, magic, axes and the best part minions. Little gremlin (copyright Steven Spielberg) creatures that basically do your bidding. They are boozy, foul mouthed creatures that love nothing better than sucking up. They even compete for your attention when they return with treasures they managed to "acquire" after a good village loot and pillage.

Well worth your $$$

Re: Overlord

Thanks Windeath, been thinking about giving this one a go. I played Transformers over the weekend, I must say it was some of the most fun ive had in a game in a long time, I mean its a movie tie-in but its still really good. You basically get two games, you play one half as Autobots and the second half as Decepticons (you can start off as either side, and even switch sides at any point during the game - different missions too), the cool thing is in the Decepticon missions you get awarded for being evil, destruction, etc. Just as you get awarded for being heroic, etc when being an Autobot.

If you have kids (mainly young boys) this game is unbelievably frickyn cool, I played it with a mates son when they came over and the excitement on his face was priceless, being able to transform on the spot, pick up bad guys and throw them, literally smash everything in the towns (seriously because of your size if you bump into a building it starts to deteriorate), use everything and i mean everything as a weapon (pick cars up, throw trees, street lights, pieces of buildings). The game has some pretty cool achievement points too (if your into that stuff), there is tons of bonus content to unlock (i.e movies, photos, G1 Transformers).

Some of the coolest stuff is when you play as helicopters and jets, nothing looks cooler than when your flying full speed to your destination then you press the transform button in mid flight and you hit the ground as a robot then start swinging those gigantic arms. lol.

Its not an overly expensive game either, there is alot on ebay (HK) for around $40, Big W sells it for around $70.

Here is a BUY IT NOW from ebay from an Australian seller $64.95

Transformers: The Game (360)
I have Transformers on PC and it is the biggest pile of brown smelly crap you can buy. It has some of (if not) the worst level design, most BORING combat (and awkward combat) I have ever seen. My eldest boy loves it due to the whole Transformers vibe but as the actual player of the game I absolutely had it.

The X360 version may be better so I might hire it and give it a go.
