XBOX 360 - First use

I got my Xbox 360 premium edition yesterday from DSE and connected to my MCE.

My main purpose of buying this was to use as an extender.

I have streamed Live and Recorded TV and the video quality looks great! Better than my STB.

However, Xbox 360 is noisier than my desktop PC.

Now, I got few questions.

1. How could I control the volume using the media remote? Is it possible at all?
Media remote got all the buttons except Volume.

I have tried frantically and surprised to learn that I can't change the volumne using MCE remote.

2. I have connected my 360 to a standard CRT TV using the RCA cable.
The provided cable doesn't seems to be working for Y,Pr,Pb connections. It is only meant for the HDTV isnt it?

Are there any cables which support Y,Pr,Pb

Your advise and comments are much appreciated.

Thank you.

Re: XBOX 360 - First use

if you have component input you should be able to use it - its not just for HDTV, it will provide a better more stable picture even in standard definition.

Re: XBOX 360 - First use

Did you mean you want the remote to control the TV volume?
I didn't think the xbox could control its own output volume.

Re: XBOX 360 - First use

I got the universal remote for the xbox. It has basic tv controls too, like volume, on/off etc

Re: XBOX 360 - First use

There is a switch on the video cable for HD/SD. Is it set to SD when using Y,Pr,Pb? I have only tried HD, so dunno if this will work, just a suggestion.
