Here's a bit of a overview by someone who's given the Xbox 360 a workout as an extender, but I am a little confused (maybe even excited) by his comments about the use of both digital and analogue tuners in his MCE rig.
Is he saying that with a MCE/360 setup, if the 360 is configured to use the analogue tuner in the MCE box, it could (for example) pickup PayTV being fed into that tuner whilst the MCE rig happily runs digital FTA? - anybody else read it that way - and if so, can anybody with a 360 confirm this?
You read it right but unfortunately he will be talking about ATSC and not DVB. The MCE box will still have to successfully run the tuners (both digital and analogue) for the 360 to use them. They have always been able to do this in the US.
The reviewer would be referring to a US MCE2005 box which allows the mixture of ATSC digital tuners and analogue so it only makes sense that a 360 could use either..
Hopefully Vista will only us to do this with DVB-T tuners. Not long until the 360 is launched now, you got yours reserved?
Cheers,
Matt.

But Ive had my Xbox360 for a few months now (got mine while in uK)
Since getting it Ive moved my media center to the back room, and only use the xbox360, WAF upto 99% now (goes down dramatically when I play games :P). Works very well, hoping to get Vista very soon so I can try out digital and analog tv . Although from announcements foxtel have been making hopefully in the not to distant future we will be able to streem foxtel over the internet.
