360 accessories

Remote

In the US, I think people got the bonus remote with the premium systems, i dont think this will be happening down here. Given the IR reciever is inbuilt to the 360 itself, who is willing to fork out 49.95 for the remote? having said that id really like to borrow one to program my universal:-)

Premier Pack

Another thing is the 360 Premier pack i saw on sale at EB the other day, anyone got their hands on an official 360 controller yet? You get that a faceplate and Perfect Dark Zero as well as some VIP bull**** for 149. It would just be teasing havin all that sitting there. I guess you could always pretend!

Re: 360 accessories

I have preordered via the VIP pack. And yes it is a big tease having some stuff already sitting there.

According to the Oz version of the 360 website the full system (not the core system) includes the media remote.

Re: 360 accessories

Sorry - you are absolutely right. I read somewhere that in the US the "bonus" remote was different from the media remote, but it implicitely states that we get the media remote in the AU premium system - yippee. I am particularly impressed that pressing the green button will fire up the xbox and go straight into MCE extender in one fluid movement.

Excited now - and so long to go!

Re: 360 accessories

I WANT to get the VIP pack...

If only it gave you the option of another game, like COD2

Re: 360 accessories

So the remote in the Premium Pack is a limited offer for launch. If you look here you will notice the remote is not included in the standard Premium Specs:
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x...0customize.htm

"The premium package includes an Xbox 360, a detachable 20-GB hard-drive, a wireless controller, faceplate, headset, a component HD AV cable, an Ethernet cable, and for a limited time, a remote controller."
http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/642/642633p1.html

You can see the remote thats included w/ the Premium package here. It's half the size of the retail Universal Remote.
http://www.spinning360.com/images/premium.jpg

Here's the retail Universal Remote:
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x...iversalremote/

So the one you get in the Premium Pack is a limited offer, and not the universal remote (i.e. it wont turn on your tv for you). But its still a very cool bonus especially if you'll be extending MCE.

K.

Re: 360 accessories

According to this site (Xbox.com.au) the remote is included in the Premium kit..

http://www.xbox.com/en-AU/hardware/x...em/default.htm

The Xbox 360 System includes:

Xbox 360 console
Sexy styling that packs a punch — three powerful core processors are poised to pump out 720p/1080i output, 16x9 cinematic aspect ratio, anti-aliasing for smooth textures, full surround sound and DVD playback right out of the box.

Xbox 360 Hard Drive (20 Gb)
Save games, rip CDs, and download new Xbox Live content on the detachable 20GB drive.

Xbox 360 Wireless Controller
Remove the clutter with a 30-foot wireless range and the same precision as a wired controller.

Xbox 360 Faceplates
Change your mood and your console whenever you want with distinctive Faceplates.

Xbox 360 Media Remote
Sit back with this integrated control center for your console, TV, and DVD/CD playback.

Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable
Optimized for standard and high definition TVs.

Xbox Live Silver membership. With this, gamers can chat with friends online, send and receive voice and text messages, and access new content from Xbox Live Marketplace demos such as trailers and casual games from Xbox Live Arcade

Re: 360 accessories

Beyond the Universal capability, i wonder what the key differences are.

Thanks for that information by the way.

Re: 360 accessories

Yeah cnet.com.au also lists the media remote in the Oz pack:
http://www.cnet.com.au/games/xbox/0,...0.htm?type=pop

Only differences I know of is: Universal control; and Number Buttons.

That's for the US and Europe, and they've already stopped including the remote with Premiums. If you look at the Australian specs page here the media remote is listed as an included accessory. Word is we get the remote as standard instead of the headset.

No numeric keypad, not backlit and not programable. That's pretty much the only difference.
