Is 60Hz an issue in watching TV on xbox?

- I'm planning for my new house. Thinking about putting xboxes as an extender I believe xbox can only output 60hz & not 50 hz. Is this an issue when watching TV / DVDs ?

If not, why??

Because my understanding is that PAL is 50Hz?

Thanks.

Re: Is 60Hz an issue in watching TV on xbox?

Some Vista MCE users think they're getting 50Hz with the X360 in HD mode, but no one has a TV that tells them for sure.

I use MCE2005 & just run my 360 in SD mode - it runs 50Hz in SD fine. HD is definitely 60Hz.

There doesn't seem to be any doubt that the 360 is capable of HD @ 50Hz (see some of my previous posts on the matter), it's just a matter of it being enabled by MS. It seems that when it comes to MCX in HD @ 50Hz, the 360 is suddenly just a games console that does some other unimportant stuff too.

Re: Is 60Hz an issue in watching TV on xbox?

I plugged my 360 into my 22" LCD monitor via HDMI and it is definately 60hz in HD. most of the time you cant tell the difference but occasionally you get lip-sync issues.

Re: Is 60Hz an issue in watching TV on xbox?

It doesn't bother me, but if it's a problem for you and you don't need everything else the 360 does, just grab a DMA2100 or DMA2200 Media Center Extender - they support 50Hz.

Regards,
Shane.
