Swapping xBox360 Hard Drives

Have multiple 360's all hooked up as media extenders (mce2005) over wired network in home. Transfering large content (eg. game demos) and certain games saves between the xBoxes is impossible with the xbox memory unit (64Mb currently).

Q: rather than moving xBoxes around the house, will moving removal drives achieve the same thing including carrying MCE remote user accounts, game saves, downloaded content etc when moved to the second console? What side effects might one have?

Not brave enough to try it without input as I've just got overall setup stable.

Sam.

You will be fine to just swap the Hard Drives around, but you will not be able to acces the downloaded content from Xbox Live unless you are signed into your Live account.

I take it Xbox live profiles/accounts also transported with the hard drives?

How do these get stored with Xbox consoles with no hard drive?

You cant unfortunately, there is no storage in the 360, thats what memory cards and the HDD do. You will just have to run around the house swapping th HDD's all the time. lol

Yes, it is all stored on the HDD, but like i said you wont be able to use any of the downloads (i.e arcade games) unless your signed into xbox live

Re: Swapping xBox360 Hard Drives

Swapping hard drives worked a treat. Only thing of interest was that MCE remote user accounts were fixed to the console not the hard drive - seems logical given that extender functionality works without hard drive option.

I believe that with the new larger HDD option coming out soon it will also come with a cable for transferring data between drives. The other option is doing the mod that allows you to plug it into a PC.

Indeed you are correct about that, but it will not come with the Elite pack, only when you buy the HDD seperately.
