Headset Options for Xbox 360 Extender

Need a stereo headset for bedroom Xbox 360 media centre experience so as not to disturb wife who sleeps earlier than I. Hooking up a generic headset directly to TV would be a bit messy (tv is wall mounted, xbox sits bedside).

Only thing that comes close that I can locate:

One poblem with these are they hook up to the controller - unsure if controllers turn themselves off if not being actively used aka gaming style. Not sure if mic can be removed (don't do any online gaming).

Sam.

Re: Headset Options for Xbox 360 Extender

Im not to sure about this, so dont take what i say as gospel, but i only thought that the headsets plugged into the bottom of the controller could only be used for communication??? you could buy a wireless headset for your tv??? sorry i couldnt give a better answer.

Re: Headset Options for Xbox 360 Extender

Have bought a headset for the wireless controller and that is correct, they are only used for communication, so don't get anything out of it unless you are playing a game on Xbox live. Can only use it to talk to other players. Game music doesn't even go over the headset, that still comes through TV or amp.

Though didn't check your link so am assuming the headset is the same as the one I connect to the controller. Checked your link and it is certainly different to the standard headset, sounds good for gaming but for what you are looking for, I think straight headset of some kind would be better.

You probably need to get some ear phones that connect to the tv assuming it has an socket for that, or connect it up to an amp and do the normal headphone thing.
