xbox360 - where to buy/what options do i want? was:I got a christmas fairy coupon :)

You know, where a loved one that get to stay on your christmas list next year says "i'm going to buy you an xbox 360 in the sales".

So, its off to the shops on thursday.

What the heck do i need to get?
What i've learned so far:
-Premium, not core
-buy from EB, for the "we don't care what broke" extended warranty/insurance.
-Got an old xbox, that I think can be traded in for $100, so i'll probably do that

At purchase time, there are some packs and stuff you can get - what should I want? what do i need?

in terms of hooking in to the AV system I have the following connections available:
-VGA or Component
-Optical or coaxial digital audio
Does it come with suitable cables? do i need to buy another pack?

How do the wireless controllers get charged? do i need something for this?

What games do i want? Gears of War I am pretty sure I will be bringing home on the day, because it looks awesome, any other suggestions? any discounty type stuff you can get on initial purchase?

Who do i get them to price match? needs to be a shop-front etc, so who is best at the moment?

This will be in the same room as my media centre, so i don't need anything extender related at this stage

Teach me, O learned souls...

Re: I got a christmas fairy coupon :)

Big w is good to pricematch with, check out palgn.com.au for there shopping guide for consoles and games.

Don't think there is a VGA cable as yet for Xbox 360, I know it and possibly dvi/hdmi in the future as HD tv uptake increases

Wireless controllers can be recharged in base station or via USB play and charge kit.

Premium pack comes with Mini mce remote and Compoinent Cables

VGA adapters have been out since launch. I know, I got one.
