I was thinking of getting one of these. Toys R US (hey I was in there with my son) has them for $39.00 The problem (or lack of problem) is my 360 isn't overheating....I hope.

Re: Xbox 360 Intercooler

In my store, we rent out 360's and request that people turn the machine off every 2 hours for atleast 20 mintues then they can get back into it. Basically because people live in different environments and who know how much air is getting back there. We also ask if people can lay the console horizontally to avoid any damage to discs. If you have your console in a well ventilated area (and you didnt pick out the wrong one in 5. lol)the intercooler probably isnt necessary, but is pretty good for back up.

Re: Xbox 360 Intercooler

What a crazy thing to worry about. You fork out $600+ on these next gen wonder machines then get slapped in the face and told..."well you can't put it there, You should really have this attached, Oh I wouldn't have it facing that direction".

Geez yet another Micro$oft product released to the public that we the consumer have to bug test.

Re: Xbox 360 Intercooler

We have that rule because we cant afford to replace these consoles. lol. My business partner took one home with him and was playing GRAW with the console Vertical, his baby crawled past knocking the machine over, disk copped a flogging. lol. thats why we ask cuxtomers to lay them horizontally to avoid accidents like this. And with the heating issue we have had to return about 13 360's, Over at Ingram Entertainment they have told me they get on average about 400 returned a week, though it has slowed down a bit now since release date.

I picked one up for $50 the other day, not bad at all... is not quiet however.. infact its loud, but when you have the volume turned up you hardly hear it + you have an on off switch.

Re: Xbox 360 Intercooler

ok just got one. Plugged it in and away she went (or he as the case may be ) It does add a little extra noise but I sit pretty far back from my Plasma so it doesn't really concern me.
