Re: Freeview Confirmed For 2009 In Australia

I've been seeing ads for this for the past week.

My understanding is that it will only be available on FreeView licensed Set Top Boxes , DVRs and TV's with the stations charging the manufactures a small licensing fee (hardly free then).
I think it will add about $10 to the cost of the device for the lifetime use of FreeView with that device.

I wonder how this will apply to HTPCs?

I would be happy to pay a small licencing fee to get it for lifetime use.
