The Asus was almost cool to the touch. I might switch the heatsinks if my fan strategy doesn't work - the problem with the Fusion/NSK2400/2480 layout is that while the fans are big & good, all the heatsinks are orientated 90 degrees the wrong way for good air flow. I've switched my fans to 1 in 1 out to try & get a bit of a swirl through the case. We'll see.
The numbers surprise me a bit - it feels faster than the Asus, but the numbers say different. The RAM number is the biggest puzzler - it's the same RAM! Also, the CPU seems to be idling around 40 degrees C (was 30ish in the Asus) - sounds a bit like what Pantonious was seeing with the ECS. I might do some further tweaking in the BIOS.
Off to set up the Asus on my desktop now.

Justin,
If you take the heatsinks off, maybe check the GPU part numbers and/or take photos to see if it is the same device on both boards?
