If you are going to use the extender while using the PC, make sure the PC has a reasonable amount of grunt - I'd suggest dual core as minimum spec. Works fine with an old box (e.g. P4 2.53GHz) as long as you don't really use the PCs desktop at the same time (& certainly won't work well while the old PC is running VMC).
Also, be aware of what other video formats you can & can't play over the extender before you buy it - it won't just play everything: e.g. Divx tagged AVIs won't play, but Xvid tagged ones will (you can use FourCC changer to make Dvix Xvid

). AVIs with AC3 won't play, but with mp3 they will. MKVs won't play.
In other words, buyer beware!
