I'd normally be reluctant to add new forum(s) based on a region since it could set a precedent, and there's no way I could provide specific areas for the US, UK, Europe etc..
I do however recognise that this is a software issue which needs addressing in specific forum, so I've created a new sub-forum under under "Other Media Center Options " as you suggested, I was unsure about the best forum name so any feedback welcome.
So let's see if it provides any value over the next couple of months and if so it can stay, or at least until there's a more "mainstream" solution to the VMC/MP4 issue.
On a related note, whilst researching the subject I came across this post -
