I threw Belkin an e-mail about the situation.

Their reply:
We are sorry to say that the switch doesn`t have an option to access the wireless signals from the router. the switch is used to connect more number of pc`s. if you want to connect wirelessly you should have a wireless card or wireless adapter installed the computer or laptop.

So apparently i have to always be connected to the router and not the switch. Very unhappy about this.
