To tell the truth, I don't watch the HD channels much - I don't notice much difference on my 82cm LCD TV. I usually only go to the HD channels when there's something particular I want to want that's not on the SD channel - like Battlestar Galactica, which does look pretty good, I must say. I have done a side-by-side comparison with All Saints (which I think is in HD) on 7 and thought the SD broadcast actually looked better on my setup! That would support your observation re 7HD.
