Re: Vista to XP file share problem

Hi Guys,

What are the easy steps to put both computers in the same workgroup?

In my set-up, probably due to bad management on my part, most of the family laptops, and one desktop all have the same workgroup, but the media centre has a work group of a different name. None of the computers are running VISTA and shared files are able to be viewed. It is not a big problem because I can always find an individual computer by looking for its name.

However, If I look at network neighborhood and click on the media centre's workgroup from a different computer, I get an access denied message, even though I can go to the mediacentre computer directly by searching.

Certainly not a big problem, and I wouldn't want to do anything that stopped the computers from talking, but your question made me wonder if.....

Cheers,

KH
