Have you updated the BIOS recently? Last time I did that, the amount of memory used by video went back down to the minimum (32MB I think).
Get yourself into the BIOS & adjust the video memory up to a more reasonable level.
While your at it, make sure you've got the latest BIOS (which I'm pretty sure is 1201). Updates available
