PC to HDTV via HDMI

Hi,

I recently purchased a number of items to get a little home media centre going. I purchased an HP DV2754TX Notebook, an LG 47" Full HDTV, Logitech DiNovo Edge and HDMI cable.

As some of you are probably aware, the HP notebook comes with HDMI output. I bought it purely for this reason so that i could connect the notebook and the TV to allow me to browse the web, check emails and watch DVDs using the Notebook, all displayed on the HDTV screen.

When i plugged everything in, it all seemed to work fine. The scaling etc was fine. However i first tested my new system by trying to play a dvd. When playing i found that i was getting some horizontal lines like the tv wasn't refreshing properly. This started to concern me.

Next i just started doing some basic web browsing. When viewing websites where i need to scroll down (even very slowly) i found i was getting the same thing.

I would like to know why this is happening and how i can fix it? Is it the graphics card? is it the HDMI cable? is it the TV?

I am hoping that someone out there knows exactly what i am talking about and how to fix it. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Ben
