For the minor inconveniences that a Free EPG sometimes has, I would put my vote behind Free*EPG anyday.

My opinion is formed by the following interaction with IceTV:

I was evaluating IceTV back in November 2007 and emailed a question to the support email service about tuner setup and IceTV Interactive (the web service was scheduling random recordings) . I got a response today... (yes, that's today the 8th February 2008)!

I simply can't justify rewarding a company that, during one of the most critical phases of user product acceptance (that is the evaluation phase), took nearly 3 months to acknowledge my email. After all, when you're business is primarily selling metadata, you would think that support and customer satisfaction would have to be pretty high up on your priorities list, right?
