Getcha Vista EPG Hotfix Here :)

This has been mentioned elsewhere but I wanted to provide these links and instructions in a clearer fashion for the benefit of AMCC users.

EDIT - I'd originally posted the hotfix download link and password from MS but I just noticed deX has already posted the extracted hotfix in the uploads section
http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/comm...do=file&id=152

This is a not yet released fix which usually requires you to call MS. There is NO verification process so I dont see why we cant put this up here ! (I told them my name was Tom Jones FFS.)

Please note - THE FOLLOWING FIXES ARE PROVIDED AS A SOLUTION BUT MAKE SURE YOU BACK STUFF UP if you need to

Free EPG Have posted info about Hotfix KB935685 - which apparently is designed to prevent your EPG Discovery Service from being over-ridden

The info and supplemental regfix is from FreeEPG...so HUGE KUDOS to them.

1. DOWNLOAD THE HOTFIX >>Thanks to deX for the upload
http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/comm...do=file&id=152

2. INSTALL THE HOTFIX

Once you have download the hotfix, simply extract and install it!

3. DISABLE THE GUIDE SERVICE RESET
If you know where it is and are confident to do so - you can do it manually.....

or

Download this registry update and merge it into your Windows Registry.
http://free-epg.epgstream.net/suppor...ateDiscSvc.zip

You can merge this update into your registry by double-clicking the KB935685_disableUpdateDiscSvc.reg file and following the prompts.

4. RUN YOUR GUIDE SETUP PROCESS

Once again, thanks to FreeEPG, MS and deX !!

I guess I'll have to give it a burl a few days to truly make sure its working !
