Nice walkthrough.
I too have had problems like you but this point isn't 100% correct. A couple times I have rebuilt my MCE box and not been able to get video in the Dvico app (although it scans channels and tunes ok) but MCE works fine. I have never been able to figure out what makes the difference even though I tried isolating different things.
