Re: Australian EPG Petition - Ends January 31st!

I think even small petitions (like this one has turned out to be) are still of great value. Even if this petition causes at least one person to think about the issue at hand (politician or not) then the whole exercise has added some value.

What we have to really worry about is a 'generation' of Media Center users becoming apathetic to the EPG cause. Just because a technology or service doesn't exist or there are some roadblocks to it's development does not mean it's unobtainable. I'd hate to see a day when people say ... "Oh well, the problem is too big ... Too hard to solve in 5 minutes so I'll just resign myself to the scraps of technology and information from the corporates or monopolies."

Anyway, as everyone has mentioned, this petition is 'small' but it's only due to the apathy or ignorance of this community's issues. This isn't a bad thing, it just means we have to all actively participate in the education of our fellow community members! Let's hope Arkay's next petition (please, please set another one up ) get's a bit more active support.

Thanks to everyone who has signed (and will sign) the petition ... You've made a valuable contribution, even though you may not directly see results or effects of it. Oh, and big thanks to Arkay!
