Have you ever used linux and are you adventurous?

All that can be achieved easily on a cheap motherboard, not very fast CPU and small amount of ram. You just need something that has enough disk controllers on it to do the job.

It'll take a little work though but I'm happy to help if you want to give it a try.

Alternately Windows can do a similar job, albeit more expensively (buying the OS etc).

Do you have any spare hardware lying around or are you needing to buy something?
