Works with a standard phone line, using hyperterminal shows the incoming caller details.
Does not work with Engin. Engin does support caller ID as I have a calling number display phone that works fine. However using the same hypterminal settings that worked for the standard phone line does not work for phone calls received through Engin. The initialise modem command works but just comes up with the word ring.
I'd say this must be something to do with the way Telstra pass information to Engin for transfer onto the receiver.
Oh well a $29.92 experiment, but would have been cool.

Hi,
It's strange to hear that it doesn't work with engin VoIp. Works perfectly with iiNet Voip. And don't have to pay any monthly fee for CallerID. It's automatically active with iiNet.
