Samsung has announced the launch of a new Media Center gadget called MediaLive Media Center Extender which it hopes will allow it to get a foothold into the “Connected” arena ahead of IFA next month. After many delays, Windows Home Server (WHS) Power Pack 1 (PP1) has finally hit the RTM milestone (build 1800). The English version is now available for download from the Microsoft Download Center as a 22.6MB installer, and so is the documentation. TV Manager is a new add-in for WHS and Media Center that copies your recordings off your VMC to your WHS for storage and management. It comes in two parts. Part One, is installed on the server for management of the Recordings. Part Two, is the Media Center (Vista only) plug-in that copies new recordings over to the WHS deleting the original.
